Iranian film ‘Coldness’ (Soyuq) has won the People and Religions Award at the 20th Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.
Directed by Bahram and Bahman Ark, the film was awarded on the festival’s last running day, October 22 in the Italian city of Trento.
The 86-minute feature is about a family who is facing financial difficulties and due to this their 8 year old son is constantly anxious. His social anxiety forces him to continuously hide under his mother’s chador (long black veil).
To help her son to overcome his fears and to make him forget bad habits, his mother decides to take her chador off whenever she picks him up from school.
The cast of ‘Coldness’ includes actors such as: Sadra Daneshvar, Hamed Ghafarzadeh, Nasser Hashemi, Nasrin Moradi, Sajjad Rasi and Akbar Shariat.
The 20th edition of Religion Today Film Festival is organized from October 13 to 22 in Trento and other locations across Italy.
